Solocube Creative Becomes Reforestation Partner With One Tree Planted

Solocube Creative, a Vancouver-based digital marketing agency, announces a partnership with One Tree Planted as a reforestation partner.

“For a long time, I've been searching for a way to give back to the earth in a meaningful way through Solocube Creative and to the world we live in and we've finally found a way to do this.

I am very happy to announce that as of January 2017 we joined the non-profit organization One Tree Planted as a reforestation partner. Through the help of the One Tree Planted organization, we are able to donate a portion of each project we work on and plant trees in the process.

We are doing this because I feel it is our corporate social responsibility to give back and what better way to do it than by helping the earth in the long run and plant trees that have such strong impact in our atmosphere and our future.o

This brings so much joy to me personally, and to know that trees will be planted in areas of the planet where it needs it most. In our daily lives, we take from the earth through our consumption and waste, so this is our way to join a professional organization that is going to take care of reforestation of our beautiful planet.

One Tree Planted works very simply, One Dollar = One Tree, so anyone can do this and I encourage you to do so!

For the time being, we've focused on planting in the Amazon jungle and The Boreal Forest of Canada, two important regions that need our help.

I encourage you to go to www.ontreeplanted.org, inform yourself on the matter and donate trees in an area of the world you choose. You will feel a sense of pride in knowing that you gave your money to something meaningful, even if it's one tree, five or one hundred. Next time you are walking in a forest or just driving by, count how many trees there are and that will give you perspective on just how many they are.”

– Ivan Dancourt, Marketing Director

Canada – The Boreal Forest

Description

The Boreal is the world’s largest land-based biome. This forest emerged about 10,000 years ago, and is home to over 30,000 different species. Over 500 indigenous communities live in the boreal region, and 80% of the world’s fresh water supply is found there. Overall, the Boreal forests represent a whopping 25% of the world’s forest cover!

The Boreal Forest is unique to donate toward because of how well it has been preserved. The Canadian Boreal Forest Agreement has ensured the protection of over 170 million acres of Canada’s Boreal forest over the past five years. That’s nearly the size of Texas! Donate a tree to the Boreal today to keep Canada’s forests thriving.

Impact

The Boreal forest is a vital resource for all of North America. Every tree planted in the Canadian Boreal affects not only those who live within its borders, but also those in the surrounding area. 70% of Canada’s aboriginal population lives in the Boreal forest, amounting to over 1,400 individual communities that depend on its existence every day. The Boreal also provides Canada with over 400,000 direct and indirect employment opportunities. While some of those jobs include taking from the forest, replenishing those trees and giving back to it are vital to keep those jobs alive. Every tree planted helps to secure those opportunities for all Canadians in the long term.

Partner

Summit Reforestation has been planting trees in Canada since 1981. To date, they have planted over 414 million trees across Canada and continue to plant millions of trees every year. They pride themselves on hiring experienced, passionate tree planters who are the best at what they do. Summit Reforestation is SAFE certified and works with the Alberta Forest Products Association.

Description

The Amazon Rainforest is the world’s largest tropical rainforest, spanning over 5.5 million sq. kilometers. Often referred to as “the lungs of the earth”, the Amazon produces more than 20% of the world’s oxygen. It is also home to over 44,000 plant and animal species, as well as over 2.5 million different insects! An estimated 500 indigenous tribes call this rainforest home, amounting to over 250,000 people who rely on its existence for survival.

Impact

Donations toward the Amazon rainforest go a long way. Planting trees here not only offers a chance to help all the millions of species that rely on the Amazon, but also employs local tree planters and help fight against poverty in a handful of Latin American countries. Donate today to keep the earth’s lungs pumping!
